Radio Homes Appeal

India is a country which is only 2% Christian in population.  Lack of quality education, poverty, child labour, begging and trafficking are many of the dire issues which affect people throughout the country.

TWR has a network of partners and grass roots level workers throughout India who have set up small groups in their homes for people to come and meet to discuss the Bible and enjoy a time of fellowship with others who are interested in learning more about Jesus Christ.  The Radio Homes Project distributes radios throughout these groups to help strengthen their ministry and provide the groups with access to programmes which will enable them to learn more about Christ.

For only £4 we can buy a radio for one of these groups, and give them the opportunity to hear life-transforming Gospel programmes. 

Radio Transformed an Entire Village!

In a Soura village called Pethur, the radio program did wonders. The first convert, Krishna Rao was excommunicated because of his new found faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Without any argument or resentment he left the village and set up his house on the plot across the road. He wrote to our follow-up centre and our staff visited him for the first time in 1987. Noticing the drastic change in Krishna’s life, some people from the village began listening to our Soura broadcast.  Although they listened out of mere curiosity, the Word of God, which is sharper than a double edged sword penetrated into their hearts and they their lives were transformed. They too were asked to leave the village and they joined Mr. Krishna on the opposite plot. In about fifteen years the entire 150 people in the village were living on the other side of the road and place where the village was located originally is vacant.

Illiteracy and poverty are rampant among the Soura people group. In the South area twenty plus villages have been transformed through the radio broadcast. The Soura people are receptive to the Gospel.
