Indonesia Spotlight Appeal

Indonesia is the fourth most populated country in the world, and the most populous Muslim majority nation in the world. However Christianity is now the country’s fastest growing religion so TWR are looking to spread the Gospel message far and wide.

However, as a country of more than 17,000 islands, and with dense rainforest separating rural communities, it is not easy to physically reach much of the largely rural population. This is why TWR’s radio ministry is so important.

The Indonesian people take a great interest in religious broadcasting and 50% of the population listen to religious programmes at least once a week. This is a huge potential audience we hope to reach.

The Indonesia Spotlight project aims to reach these isolated communities by expanding the geographical area of TWR-Indonesia’s ministry across islands, provinces and districts, and by producing helpful aids such as CDs, DVDs and books, to support and educate those who are young in faith.

As the church in Indonesia is still relatively young, we hope to support this project in order to get it off the ground. The costs involved are relatively low, with the potential for programmes to reach a vast audience.  As the project continues to develop, TWR-Indonesia expects this ministry to be self sustaining by 2010. We feel that the time is right to give our support, to make sure these people do not miss out on hearing the Gospel message.
