Swooping in on Vulture Funds
The Jubilee Debt Campaign, and others, are encouraging governments around the world to 'Drop the Debt' that poorer countries owe them - unfortunately this means that other organisations can then force the debt-relieved country to pay back debts owed to them (known as Vulture Funds). This leaves the countries as poor as they were before the debt relief... and still with little money to spend on essentials such as health and education. Join Phil Walker to find out more about these funds, the bill that will be introduced in Parliament in February to stop this currently legal practice, and the part you can play.
