Dr Thomas Renz on the Psalms: Psalms of Ascent
Dr Thomas Renz of Oakhill College speaks with Brent Siddall about the book that in Hebrew is known as 'The Book of Praises'. The Psalms of Ascent are the collection of 15 Psalms that were sung by God's people on their journey 'up to Jerusalem' to attend the Festivals, or by the priests as they ascended the Temple steps to begin the daily ministry. Today Dr Renz explores the background and message of a few of these songs. This is the last programme in this series.

When You're Not Welcome
Each generation of Christians has to wrestle with major theological issues. Jonathan Leeman speaks to Tom Ward about the dangers he identifies in his book, and to Rev Dr David Instone-Brewer (Senior Research Fellow in Rabbinics and New Testament at Tyndale House, Cambridge) to gain his perspective.

'Fairtrade Fortnight' & 'Stop the Traffik Freedom Week'
Less than 1% of the profit from tea goes to the tea-farmers - that is, unless you buy Fairtrade tea. There were more people trafficked across the world in this year than there were in the whole period of time when William Wilberforce was campaigning against slavery... and you may be buying food that feeds that industry - unless of course you buy 'traffik-free' products. Phil Walker talks to representatives from both these organisations to find out how to find out the difference we could each make. Fairtrade Fortnight and Freedom Week runs from 22nd February until 7th March 2010.

Dr Thomas Renz on the Psalms: Psalms 30 & 34
Dr Thomas Renz of Oakhill College speaks with Brent Siddall about the book that in Hebrew is known as 'The Book of Praises'. Two Psalms are studied in today's programme: Psalm 30 comes straight from the heart of a person of prayer. It is the prayer of one who is fully aware of the nightmare of death offering profound thanksgiving to God for His mercies. Psalm 34 is a 'wisdom psalm', full of praise to the God Who ransoms, releases, rescues and protects.

Parody (Pt II)
Did you know that a good amount of the chart hits of the 50s and 60s started out as gospel music? Maybe you've heard a recent song and thought, "Great tune! Pity it isn't about God!" Well, in the US there is a love for Christian parodies of popular music... music where the lyrics are re-written for the glory of God. Today, Ian Marron speaks to J Jackson, vocalist and lyricist with 'that parody band', ApologetiX.
