Dr Thomas Renz of Oakhill College speaks with Brent Siddall about the book that in Hebrew is known as 'The Book of Praises'. The Psalms of Ascent are the collection of 15 Psalms that were sung by God's people on their journey 'up to Jerusalem' to attend the Festivals, or by the priests as they ascended the Temple steps to begin the daily ministry. Today Dr Renz explores the background and message of a few of these songs. This is the last programme in this series.

It is the prayer of one who is fully aware of the nightmare of death offering profound thanksgiving to God for His mercies. Psalm 34 is a 'wisdom psalm', full of praise to the God Who ransomes, releases, rescues and protects.
