RSS is a simple
system that allows users to subscribe to their favorite websites.
Using RSS, webmasters can put their content into a standardized
format, which can be viewed and organized through RSS-aware
software or automatically conveyed as new content on another
website
Programs
known as feed readers can check a list of feeds on behalf
of a user and display any updated articles that they find.
Also there is podcast software which can check to find out
if there is new audio available and download it for you.
Here is some software
to try if you are interested in this.
For a feed reader,
try RSS
Reader, this will tell you when and what has been updated
on the site, and will provide links to the new content.
For podcasting
try Juice,
this will find any new audio available from the site, and
will download any audio you select, so you can listen to it
from your computer or transfer it to an MP3 player.
So what
do you do once the software is down loaded? Look for the RSS
logo
right click on it and select "copy shortcut" from
the menu that appears, then on the new software go to add
new feed and paste the link into the text box. Then everytime
you start the software it will check to see what has been
updated and will display a list of new web content with links.
