Behind Prison Walls
Another opportunity to hear this programme by Phil Walker about ‘Set Free Prison Ministries’. Set up by Martin Tuson, this ministry aims to meet the needs of prisoners in Maghaberry Prison, Northern Ireland, and many people have come to faith and experienced miracles. Phil Walker talks to Martin Tuson, and to Bobby Mathieson, a former prisoner who now works with Martin. A DVD about the ministry has recently won the ‘Best Christian Broadcast Documentary, Heart Award’.

Tuesday, 9th March

Dr Thomas Renz on the Psalms: Psalms of Ascent
Dr Thomas Renz of Oakhill College speaks with Brent Siddall about the book that in Hebrew is known as ‘The Book of Praises’. The Psalms of Ascent are the collection of 15 Psalms that were sung by God’s people on their journey ‘up to Jerusalem’ to attend the Festivals, or by the priests as they ascended the Temple steps to begin the daily ministry. Today Dr Renz explores the background and message of a few of these songs. This is the last programme in this series.

Wednesday, 10 March

Faith Schools
With the government apparently backing schools with a strong religious ethos, what are the thoughts of those involved at the ‘chalk-face’? James Fullard speaks to Graham Coyle from the Christian Schools Trust, Alison Ryan from the Association of Teachers and Lecturers and Jane Bowman from Oasis Academies to explore this recent development.

Thursday, 11th March

Fresh Expressions and Messy Church
Do we all have to ‘do church’ in the same way? Should we expect the church to always be the same - or is it acceptable to change the way we meet together to help us better relate to our communities? Andrew Roberts from Fresh Expressions (an organisation aiming to help churches re-fresh the approach to meeting together) and Lucy Moore, the team leader of Messy Church, which is a family-oriented, informal style of service which has flourished and spread across the world, talk to host, Phil Walker, about changes we could make in our churches, and whether or not these changes actually lead to more people coming to Christ.

Friday, 12th March

Chile 8.8ML
In today’s programme, James Fullard looks back at some of the events of the recent earthquake in Chile. Representatives from World Vision and Shelterbox will talk about the Christian response to the immediate needs of this beleaguered nation.
